Gerry Morgan lectures in Drama and Performance Studies, Creative Studies and Communication at Carlow College. Before gaining his M.A. in Drama Psychotherapy from Maynooth University in 2005, he worked professionally in professional theatre as a director, writer and educator for twenty years. He received the Arts Council of Ireland Mise-en-Scene Award for two of his works as a director: A Kaddish (Seeking the Lost) and A Very Strange (Kind of Wedding). As an educator he co-designed and delivered the EU Funded Pathways Theatre Training Programme for The Abbey Theatre, Schizophrenia Ireland and Equity. His areas of interest include: the nature of the imagination and creativity; performance research; performance philosophy and therapeutic work with children and adults with mental health difficulties. He recently undertook a Higher Diploma in Education for third-level lecturers at Trinity College Dublin.
