Counselling
Services at Carlow College
Maree Marshall is Carlow College's Student Counsellor.
This is a professional and confidential free service offered to all students attending our college.
Education is about development of the whole person, personally, socially and acdemically. The counselling
service aims to provide a non-judgemental safe environment in all of the above.
Most of the work of the counselling service is therapeutic on an individual basis. There are elements of student's life which can be difficult, being independent making choices and one's own decision as regards studies lifestyle, friends and career. These can lead to poor academic performance if not addressed.
Also - Seperation / loss
Anxiety / stress
Family problems
Bereavement
Addiction
Most referrals to the counselling service are self referrals or referrals by academic staff, student union member, friend or chaplincy.
These services are offered to all students during the academic year as follows:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
9.30 a.m. – 4.30 p.m.
Appointments can be made directly with our Counsellor Maree Marshall, Tel: 059 9153244,
