Course Description
This full time programme beyond B.A. level is designed to:
- Broaden the scope of students’ understanding of Social Care theory and professional practice.
- Expand students’ B.A. studies, develop their problem solving skills, sharpen analyical skills and refine their professional skills.
- Promote self development through ongoing individual and group reflection and also develop in students an awareness of the correlation between personal development and effective therapeutic intervention.
By the fourth year, students should have an extensive understanding of how context and values influence social care practice and with the achievement of a B.A (Honours) in Applied Social Studies in Social Care at Carlow College, graduates will be ready to enter the Social Care field, professionally qualified, competent, articulate, emotionally mature and capable of taking on leadership roles in chosen fields.
