Course Description
The professional training course in social care is designed to:
- Give professional training in social care, child care and family support work.
- Provide a solid basis on which social care workers, child care workers and family support workers can progress to employment and/or further study at Honours Degree and Masters Level.
- Service the ongoing demand for professionally qualified social care, child care, and family support workers in the public, voluntary and private sectors.

There is a mandatory placement to be completed within the academic year, in which students record their ability to engage at professional level in a social care setting.
