Tuition Fees

All full time undergraduate courses at Carlow College are covered under the Department of Education Free Fees Initiative.
 
Eligibility for the Free Fees Initiative is determined as follows:
 
(1)   First Undergraduate Degree
 
AND
 
(2)   Nationality Test
 
- EU passport or Original Irish Birth Certificate or Original EU nationality Identity Card or Official Irish Refugee Status (requires the appropriate original letter from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform indicating that the appropriate staus has been granted).
 
AND
 
(3)   Residency
-          Have been ordinarily resident in an EU member state for at least three of the five years preceding their entry to an approved third level course.

Registration Fee

 
All full time undergraduate students must pay a registration fee. The registration fee (2011) is €2,000.
Grants may be available from local County Councils and VECs to cover this cost. (See PDF below).

The Admissions Office at Carlow College ask that students who are receiving grants produce a Grant Approval letter on of before the day of registration. If not, students will be asked to pay €1,000 as a down payment. If the student should receive a grant thereafter, the college will refund the money on receipt of the funds from the grant authority. If the student should be declined the student will then be liable for the rest of the registration fee.
