Library Mission Statement
Since 1793 St. Patrick's, Carlow College has been a centre
of excellence in the field of Catholic education. Carlow College,
and its library, embraces the scholarship of the past, meets the
intellectual challenges of the present, and anticipates the academic
demands of the future. The library aims to provide resources in
the support of teaching, scholarship and learning. In order to
support the teaching and learning objectives of the college community,
library staff collaborate with the college student and teaching
bodies.
The library is an adult learning environment, which aims to foster
scholarship by being a pleasant and comfortable working space.
It is an environment where the silent ambience facilitates the
hard work of concentrated study. The library's range of facilities
and services assists users in their manifold learning. In this
pursuit staff and students are cherished, challenged and fairly
treated.
