The Objectives of the Humanities Programme are:

1) to provide an integrated and interdisciplinary approach to the study of the Humanities for those interested in acquiring a critical, constructive and comprehensive understanding of issues and topics in the Humanities;

2) To develop students' capacity for critical and constructive thinking about important issues that are discussed and documented in philosophy, literature, religion, history and the sciences;

3) To enable students become articulate, independent and flexible learners.

The Outcomes of the Humanities Programme are:

1) We produce graduates capable of advancing to a higher academic level of study of the Humanities [e.g. M.A. degrees courses in Philosophy, English, theology and other cognate disciplines];

2) Our course of studies provides a suitable basis for careers in media in general, politics, educational and arts administration, public service, or publishing;

3) We prepare students for teaching careers in Secondary-Level Schools, in particular for the new programmes introduced by the Department of Education in: Religious Studies, Civil, Social and Political Education, and in English Literature.
