Application & Procedures


Application for first year entry to all full-time undergraduate courses at Carlow College is made through the CAO. This may be done online at www.cao.ie or you can request a paper application form from:

Application Timetable 2012/13


Closing Date: 1 February 2012
Late Application Closing Date: 1st May 2012
Application fee:€60 for online applications, €80 for paper applications.
 
Latest Date for Change of Mind: 1st July 2012
The change of mind facility is free of charge.
 

The CAO Application System


  • Using a single application you may choose from an entire range of courses catorgorised as ‘Level 8’ or ‘Level 6/7’.

  • You may apply for up to 10 courses in each category.

  • You should list your choices in order of genuine preference in each category.

  • Applications will be assessed and offers of places will be issued independently but simultaneously in respect of each category.

  • Your choices on one list do not affect your choices on the other list.

Mature Students

In order to considered eligible, applicants must be aged 23 years or over on January 1st of the year of entry to the course. Applicants are assessed on their previous education, work experiences and demonstration of ability and competence to under-take a course. Applicants are called for interview. We also consider late applicants (applications made after February 1st).

Students with Disability/Restricted Mobility

Carlow College endeavours to provide reasonable accommodation to all students;   however, please be aware that as with all listed buildings, there are limits imposed on the College in terms of modifications that can be made. 

Therefore, students wth restricted mobility are advised to visit the College to explore its suitability for individual needs.
